The FREYBURGER vineyard

The vines are carefully cultivated in respect of the soil, the vine and the terroir, in order to extract the best, and to find all the subtlety in each of our wines. The vineyard is 60% distributed on lowland soils (sands and alluvium), 40% on the sunny slopes of Ammerschwihr (granite and limestone) in Grand Cru and Places Dits.

All plots, in plain as on hillsides, are worked with the same care. Marcel was plowing the vineyards one rank out of two and Christophe continued. Since 2001, Christophe chooses a high trellis, with two small arches carrying the fruiting branches.

From the size of the vine to the vintage, Christophe takes care to avoid excess vigor, respecting the plant, favoring lower yields to produce wines finer, elegant and character.
In 2009, he turned to organic treatments, first and foremost for the sake of Nathalie and he, who work every day in the vineyards. It no longer weeds in hills, and only under the cavaillon plain. They take the time to observe the impact on the plant, especially on the poor and granite soils of the locality Katzenstegel.

In 2016, they officially request the organic labeling they will obtain in 2019.
